The Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Denver Nuggets 118-110 in Denver on Monday night, snapping a regular-season losing streak in the Mile High City dating back to 2010. Deni Avdija paced the Blazers with 28 points, while rookie center Donovan Clingan recorded a dominant double-double featuring 17 points and 18 rebounds. Jamal Murray led the Nuggets in the losing effort with 35 points.
Portland overcame a sluggish start and a major first-half free-throw discrepancy by finding success from the three-point line in the second quarter. Key bench contributions included two-way player Chris Youngblood, who finished with a team-high +22 rating in just over 15 minutes of action. The Trail Blazers next travel to face the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday.
