Donovan Clingan was the X-Factor in the Trail Blazers' win over Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets, showing why he's already one of the league's best centers.
Rip City Project's Reese Kunz argues that Donovan Clingan proved he is already a premium center during Portland's 118-110 road win over Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets. Clingan recorded 17 points, 18 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 blocks while holding Jokic to 10-of-22 shooting. The victory pushed the Portland Trail Blazers to a 5-1 record under first-year head coach Micah Nori.
Kunz notes that Clingan grabbed 9 offensive rebounds and finished with a team-high +10 plus-minus across 32 minutes. The writer concludes that having a quality center like Clingan will be vital for Portland's long-term contention hopes against elite Western Conference big men.
