Kings general manager Scott Perry says the now-infamous team dinner involving owner Vivek Ranadivé was not what some reports made it out to be. In fact, Perry was pretty emphatic.
Sacramento Kings general manager Scott Perry denied reports that owner Vivek Ranadivé roasted players, coaches, and staff during a training-camp team dinner. Speaking on the Deuce & Mo podcast, Perry pushed back against an earlier report from Zach Lowe, asserting that no roast occurred and that Ranadivé's remarks were misunderstood.
According to Perry, Ranadivé initially made light-hearted comments about his own media coverage before addressing external criticism faced by the team. Perry stated that the speech was intended to motivate the roster to prove critics wrong collectively, rather than create tension.
