The Sacramento Kings' defense has been abysmal for years, but Walker Kessler single-handedly put them to shame last night.
Ian Goodwillie argues that Los Angeles Lakers center Walker Kessler outperformed the entire Sacramento Kings roster defensively on the same night. While the Kings registered zero blocked shots as a team in their game against the Portland Trail Blazers, Kessler recorded six blocks and three steals alongside 22 points in the Lakers' victory against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Goodwillie asserts that Sacramento's ongoing defensive struggles highlight a severe problem two games into the season. The writer contends that the Kings urgently need improved interior defense from players like Maxime Raynaud and Dylan Cardwell if they hope to compete effectively.
