The Spanish center made the defensive play of the game…
Spanish rookie center Aday Mara enjoyed a memorable NBA debut as the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the San Antonio Spurs at the Frost Bank Center. Mara delivered the highlight of the night in the third quarter when he blocked a Victor Wembanyama alley-oop attempt before running the floor to finish his own alley-oop dunk on the ensuing fast break.
Mara finished the contest with seven points, two rebounds, one assist, and one block across 12 minutes of action, registering a +9 plus-minus rating. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander guided Oklahoma City with a game-high 32 points, while Wembanyama struggled through a 1-for-13 shooting performance to score 12 points for San Antonio.
