ESPN's Brian Windhorst analyzed the Toronto Raptors' decision to acquire Kawhi Leonard on a two-year, $115 million contract extension. Windhorst noted that while Leonard has an extensive injury history, the Raptors moved on from forward Brandon Ingram, who is also facing health uncertainty following offseason foot surgery.
Ingram underwent surgery in May to remove a bone spur after aggravating his right heel during the playoffs against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Windhorst argued that committing to Leonard on a shorter two-year deal presents a manageable risk compared to maintaining an injured Ingram alongside Scottie Barnes.
