Kawhi Leonard’s $18.4M Sacrifice Comes to Light as He Signs Final NBA Deal With Raptors

Kawhi Leonard has signed a two-year, $115 million contract extension with the Toronto Raptors that includes a player option for the 2028–29 season. The agreement brings Leonard's total commitment in Toronto to three years and $165 million, which is expected to be the final stop of his NBA career.

To facilitate his return to Toronto, Leonard sacrificed approximately $18.45 million by taking $11 million below his eligible maximum and waiving a $7.45 million trade kicker. The deal was negotiated by agent Harrison Gaines after Leonard parted ways with his uncle Dennis Robertson.
