Anthony Edwards joined legends Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan as the only players in NBA history with multiple 40-point games in season openers.

Anthony Edwards scored 45 points to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 131-106 victory over the Miami Heat on Wednesday night. Edwards joined Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan as the only players in NBA history to score at least 40 points in multiple season openers, having previously posted 41 points in the previous season's opener against Portland.
Edwards recorded 10 rebounds, three assists, and nine 3-pointers across 33 minutes, outscoring the entire Heat team from beyond the arc. Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch praised Edwards' ability to thrive in key moments following the performance.
