Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin criticized the NFL for suspending line judge Jeff Seeman following an on-field altercation with Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride. Seeman received a two-game suspension after broadcast cameras appeared to capture him directing expletives at McBride during Sunday's game against the New York Giants.
Irvin argued on his YouTube channel that the league's modern era is soft, suggesting that profanity from players toward officials has always been common. While NFLPA executive director JC Tretter condemned Seeman's conduct as unacceptable, Irvin contended that suspending the official over emotional on-field language went too far.
