Cowboys rumors link Josh Sweat to Dallas before the trade deadline, but his reported contract preference could complicate a move for the Cardinals pass rusher.

The Dallas Cowboys have been linked to Arizona Cardinals pass rusher Josh Sweat ahead of the November 10 NFL trade deadline, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. The connection addresses a stated need for Dallas' pass rush, and Cowboys executive Stephen Jones confirmed the team remains in active trade conversations. Sweat previously worked with Cowboys defensive coordinator Christian Parker during their time together with the Philadelphia Eagles, offering familiarity for the defensive scheme.
However, Fowler reported that acquiring Sweat could require a contract adjustment or new agreement in addition to draft pick compensation. Sweat is currently in the second year of a four-year contract with Arizona. Writer Mauricio Rascón argues that Dallas must exercise caution given that the franchise holds only four selections in the 2027 draft, warning that high contract demands and draft capital could outweigh the benefits.
