The Story in 60 Seconds

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are encountering pushback from neighbors over renovation and landscaping plans at their $5.35 million mansion in Bratenahl, Ohio. Neighbors voiced concerns that planting dozens of evergreen trees could damage a 100-year-old shared clay sewer pipe, risking a backup of raw sewage into nearby homes. The local village planning board recently approved a six-foot fence and partial landscaping but rejected proposed trees along the shoreline.

Project representatives noted that the couple adjusted plans following neighbor feedback, reducing fence height, adding access gates, and covering repairs to the shared line. Representatives also argued the proposed trees sit farther from the pipe than existing neighbor plantings. Kelce purchased the historic 21,000-square-foot lakefront property in March.
