Jordyn Brooks explains how losing can affect players as the Dolphins return from their bye, while Patrick Paul and Jeff Hafley offer their views.

Miami Dolphins linebacker Jordyn Brooks suggested that repeated losses can negatively affect players mentally by causing them to hesitate and avoid taking chances. Speaking on Monday as the team returned from its bye week, Brooks noted that losing can stop players from playing freely, though he declined to evaluate specific teammates. The Dolphins currently hold an 0-5 record entering their upcoming game against the New York Jets.
Head coach Jeff Hafley and left tackle Patrick Paul pushed back on the idea that the team is playing tight, instead pointing to execution issues and penalties. Hafley explained that the coaching staff used the bye week to review schemes and consider adjustments across all units alongside coordinators Bobby Slowik and Chris Tabor.
