The New England Patriots officially placed rookie outside linebacker Quintayvious Hutchins on injured reserve on Friday. Hutchins sustained a knee injury during New England's 20-3 victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers and missed three consecutive practices ahead of the team's Week 3 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. By landing on injured reserve, the 23-year-old is required to miss a minimum of four games.
Drafted in the seventh round at No. 247 overall in the 2026 NFL draft out of Boston College, Hutchins recorded three tackles over 16 defensive snaps and 12 special teams snaps in his first two games. The Patriots did not announce an immediate corresponding move, leaving an open spot on the 53-man roster.
