Abdul Carter Makes Promise to Giants ‘Traitors’

New York Giants edge rusher Abdul Carter pledged to raise his standard and lead after defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson labeled players failing to run to the ball as "traitors." Wilson called out the defense's lack of effort following a 34-27 Week 6 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Carter stressed that players must look in the mirror and ensure maximum hustle on every play.

The Giants' defense has faced significant challenges, including season-ending injuries to Brian Burns and Tremaine Edmunds. Franchise legend Tiki Barber publicly backed Wilson's call for accountability, which reflects a stricter team culture under head coach John Harbaugh. Carter, who has two sacks through six games, has taken on an expanded leadership role amid front-seven reshuffling.
