Trace Ford earned a Giants roster spot, and a defined passing-down audition could reveal more than his seven tackles have shown so far.

Alexander Wilson argues that the New York Giants should grant newly promoted edge rusher Trace Ford a defined passing-down audition. The Giants signed Ford from their practice squad to the active roster after three standard game elevations and released veteran Jihad Ward.
With Brian Burns and Chauncey Golston currently on injured reserve, Wilson suggests the team test Ford's pass-rushing discipline on selected third downs against Houston rather than merely using his promotion as a temporary roster patch.
