Hurts has been diagnosed with blood clots in both lungs and has been ruled out for the remainder of the NFL season.

The NFL will not punish the Philadelphia Eagles for their medical handling or injury reporting regarding quarterback Jalen Hurts, according to a league source. The league determined that the process of clearing Hurts to play in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars was handled appropriately after doctors discovered a superficial calf blood clot in London.
Subsequent testing in the United States revealed the clot had moved, resulting in deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary emboli that ruled Hurts out for the season. The Eagles and agent Nicole Lynn reported his prognosis is very good, while backup quarterback Tanner McKee will start in his place.
