The Pittsburgh Steelers cleared wide receiver DK Metcalf from their injury report while adding tight end Pat Freiermuth ahead of Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Metcalf was cleared after missing time due to illness, but Freiermuth is now listed as questionable after sustaining a calf injury on Saturday, according to Steelers communications director Burt Lauten.
Metcalf's return provides vital support for a shorthanded receiving group missing Michael Pittman Jr., Roman Wilson, and Ben Skowronek. Should Freiermuth be sidelined, tight end Robert Tonyan is expected to assume an expanded role in Pittsburgh's offense.
