The San Francisco 49ers released defensive lineman Ogbo Okoronkwo on Friday, clearing a roster spot as the club prepares to bring back a younger piece of its defensive front.
The San Francisco 49ers released eight-year veteran defensive lineman Ogbo Okoronkwo on Friday. The transaction clears a 53-man roster spot to make way for the expected activation of Mykel Williams from the physically unable to perform list.
Okoronkwo joined San Francisco in August after recovering from a torn triceps suffered in late September 2025. In four games for the 49ers during the 2026 season, the 31-year-old recorded two tackles and one sack before being let go.
