The Washington Commanders have a serious problem to solve on offense, and Jayden Daniels' pocket-time numbers offer a troubling indication of why the quarterback has struggled to find consistency.
Fabricio Carvalho reports that Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels averaged just 1.5 seconds of pocket time through the first five weeks of the 2026 season. According to Pro-Football-Reference data, Daniels recorded the lowest pocket-time mark among listed quarterbacks, with every other quarterback receiving at least 2.0 seconds.
Carvalho highlights that offensive line injuries to left tackle Laremy Tunsil and right guard Sam Cosmi have severely hindered Washington's protection. Following a 23-17 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, the Commanders entered their bye week with a 1-4-1 record needing major offensive line improvements.
