The Washington Commanders are expected to sign free-agent running back Austin Ekeler to their 53-man roster pending a physical, according to a report from Ian Rapoport. The potential signing follows the team's Week 3 victory and marks a reunion for Ekeler, who previously played in Washington and has now recovered from a torn Achilles.

Ekeler recently worked out for the Carolina Panthers before reaching an agreement with Washington. If finalized, the veteran running back will join Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Rachaad White, and Kaytron Allen in head coach Dan Quinn's backfield to provide depth and pass-protection support.
