The Anaheim Ducks announced that forward Ryan Poehling has been placed on injured reserve and will miss 6-8 weeks due to an MCL sprain. The 27-year-old sustained the injury on Saturday during a 4-2 win against the Calgary Flames. Poehling was tripped by Flames defenseman Zayne Parekh while scoring a shorthanded goal against Dustin Wolf, causing his knee to slam into the goal post.
In response to the injury, the Ducks recalled 2025 first-round draft pick Roger McQueen from the AHL affiliate San Diego Gulls. Poehling had recorded a goal and an assist through five appearances in the 2026-27 season after signing a four-year contract extension with an average annual value of $3.75 million.
