The Calgary Flames are in a rebuild, a retool, or whatever term you want to use for the current stage of the organization.

Several Calgary Flames prospects have made impressive starts to the 2026-27 season across junior and collegiate leagues. Chase Harrington leads the Spokane Chiefs with seven points in four games, while sophomore Ethan Wyttenbach has four points in two games for Quinnipiac. Vancouver Giants forward Joe Iginla, the son of franchise icon Jarome Iginla, has tallied three points in five contests.
Defenceman Henry Mews has recorded two assists in two games for the University of Michigan, and 6-foot-5 forward Simon Katolicky has scored two goals in seven games for the Sarnia Sting. The Hockey News notes that these strong starts highlight growing organizational depth across the WHL, OHL, and NCAA during Calgary's rebuild.
