Blue Jackets’ Provorov, Fabbro, Severson out week-to-week; Lundestrom month-to-month

Columbus Blue Jackets head coach Rick Bowness announced that defensemen Ivan Provorov, Dante Fabbro, and Damon Severson are sidelined week-to-week with injuries. Additionally, forward Isac Lundestrom is listed as month-to-month. The significant absences hit the Blue Jackets just as they prepare to open their regular season on Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Provorov suffered a lower-body injury to his left ankle against the Detroit Red Wings, ending his four-year ironman streak. Fabbro is recovering from a fractured hand sustained on Sept. 21, while Severson remains out following March shoulder surgery. Lundestrom is targeting a potential November return after undergoing Achilles tendon surgery in July.
