Eyebrows were raised when the Pittsburgh Penguins, a much-mentioned suitor for Jason Robertson, traded for his brother Nick this offseason, and it sounds like that situation is one hockey fans should continue to keep an eye on.
According to Sportsnet insider Nick Kypreos, the Pittsburgh Penguins acquired forward Nick Robertson partly to help lure his brother, Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson, to Pittsburgh. Jason Robertson signed a one-year, $12 million contract extension with the Stars for the 2026-27 season, leaving his long-term future in Dallas uncertain as he approaches unrestricted free agency next July.
Pittsburgh Penguins general manager Kyle Dubas reportedly holds a strong interest in Jason Robertson, who is said to have tremendous interest in the Pittsburgh market. The 27-year-old winger tallied 96 points, including 45 goals and 51 assists, in 82 games for the Stars last season.
