Jamie Benn and Jason Robertson recorded a goal and an assist apiece for the host Dallas Stars, who unloaded on the short-handed San Jose Sharks 5-0 on Monday to earn their first victory of the season.
The Dallas Stars secured their first victory of the season with a commanding 5-0 shutout against the San Jose Sharks on Monday. Goaltender Jake Oettinger stopped all 13 shots faced to record his 17th career shutout. Jamie Benn and Jason Robertson each registered a goal and an assist, while Miro Heiskanen, Joel Kiviranta, and Mikko Rantanen also scored for Dallas.
San Jose played without center Macklin Celebrini, who was a late scratch due to a lower-body injury after pregame warmups. Sharks goaltender Yaroslav Askarov made 21 saves as San Jose suffered its first defeat following a two-game winning run to start the season.
