The Dallas Stars placed goaltender Brandon Halverson on waivers on Tuesday as the team trims its roster ahead of the regular season. Dallas originally signed the 30-year-old goaltender to a one-year, two-way contract worth $850,000 on July 1 to provide depth in net.
Halverson was selected in the second round of the NHL draft by the New York Rangers before spending time across the minor leagues. He spent the past three years with the Tampa Bay Lightning organization, recording a .918 save percentage in 26 games with their AHL affiliate.
