The Canadiens don’t need the teams in their division to get any better. Especially not after already seeing Kirill Marchenko trade to the Maple Leafs a few days ago.
During an appearance on the "Sekeres and Price" podcast, hockey analyst Jeff Marek suggested that the Boston Bruins could emerge as a suitor for Detroit Red Wings defenseman Simon Edvinsson. Marek noted that an interested club could potentially make an aggressive play or offer sheet to capitalize on Detroit's difficult situation. He also mentioned the Carolina Hurricanes as another franchise that might consider a move for the 23-year-old blueliner.
The article notes that Boston has long sought to upgrade its defensive group, where Edvinsson could quickly assume significant playing time. While Marek currently views Edvinsson as a second-pairing defenseman, he highlighted the young player's strong previous performances alongside Moritz Seider. A potential trade to Boston would represent an unwelcome outcome for the rival Montreal Canadiens following Toronto's recent acquisition of Kirill Marchenko.
