While the Detroit Red Wings didn't play poorly five-on-five during Sunday's game, their penalty killing struggles proved to be their undoing.

The Detroit Red Wings suffered their second consecutive home defeat, falling 3-2 to the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday afternoon. Despite not conceding at five-on-five, Detroit struggled on the penalty kill as Winnipeg capitalized repeatedly with the man-advantage. Kyle Connor scored two power-play goals and Cole Perfetti added another, building a 3-0 lead for the Jets that Detroit could not fully overcome.
Detroit attempted a comeback with goals from Viktor Arvidsson on the power play and Emmitt Finnie in the third period. Head coach Todd McLellan criticized the team's penalty killing and undisciplined penalties, emphasizing the need for low-scoring games amid the absence of Dylan Larkin and departure of Patrick Kane. Detroit next hosts the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday.
