Oilers notebook: Shakir Mukhamadullin, Owen Michaels turning heads this preseason

Edmonton Oilers newcomers Shakir Mukhamadullin and Owen Michaels have reportedly impressed head coach Mike Babcock during the NHL preseason. Both players are looking to establish their roles with the team ahead of the upcoming campaign.

The roster moves follow a trade in which defenseman Darnell Nurse waived his no-trade clause to join the San Jose Sharks. The transaction allowed Edmonton to move Nurse's contract, which had four years remaining at $9.25 million annually.
