Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand was helped off the ice on Tuesday night after appearing to suffer an injury to his left knee against the Los Angeles Kings. Marchand drove the net and collided with the cage after getting caught by the stick of Kings defenseman Brandt Clarke. He was assisted off by teammates without putting weight on his leg during the Panthers' 2-1 victory.
Head coach Paul Maurice stated there was no immediate update on Marchand, who is scheduled to be evaluated by team doctors on Thursday. Marchand was playing in just his second game back following offseason core surgery. The injury comes shortly after captain Sasha Barkov was sidelined for six to eight weeks with a knee issue.
