REIGN PREVIEW 10/2 – Ontario at Coachella Valley

The Ontario Reign open their 2025-26 AHL regular season on the road against the Coachella Valley Firebirds at Acrisure Arena. Entering their second year under head coach Andrew Lord, the Reign are defending Pacific Division champions following a franchise-best 99-point campaign. The matchup marks a rematch of last spring's Calder Cup Playoff series, which Coachella Valley won in double overtime of game five.

Ontario's 27-man opening roster features 20 returning players alongside newcomers such as Lane Pederson and Scott Perunovich. Goaltenders Hampton Slukynsky, Carter George, and Erik Portillo comprise the netminding trio, while the Firebirds enter their fifth season led by head coach Derek Laxdal and newly named captain John Hayden.
