Minnesota’s injury woes intensified as their star winger collided with the Blues' goaltender, leaving the game late after a hard hit into the boards silenced the arena.

Minnesota Wild star Kirill Kaprizov exited Thursday's 5-4 victory over the St. Louis Blues after a collision with Blues goaltender Joel Hofer. During the third period, Hofer stepped out of his crease to check Kaprizov into the boards behind the net. Kaprizov briefly remained in the game for a subsequent power play before heading down the tunnel.
Wild head coach John Hynes stated after the game that Kaprizov is OK, providing relief for a team already missing seven injured players. Wild goaltender Jesper Wallstedt strongly criticized Hofer's actions, describing the check outside the crease as a dirty and ugly play.
