Wild Teammate Sees ‘A Little Bit Of Kucherov’ In Maxim Shabanov

Minnesota Wild forward Yakov Trenin compared new teammate Maxim Shabanov to NHL star Nikita Kucherov during training camp in St. Paul. Trenin and Shabanov share a hometown, attended the same hockey school, and trained together ahead of the camp. Trenin praised Shabanov's vision, skating, and playmaking ability.

Shabanov joined Minnesota following a season with the New York Islanders where he was periodically scratched. He has recently skated alongside superstar Kirill Kaprizov and is supported by fellow Russian teammates Danila Yurov and Trenin during his transition.
