Nikita Kucherov Interested in Playing for Canadiens, Insider Says

Insider Jeff Marek has reportedly stated that Tampa Bay Lightning superstar Nikita Kucherov has interest in playing for the Montreal Canadiens. The speculation follows reports of a bombshell trade request from Kucherov, with reporter Elliotte Friedman initially breaking news regarding the situation. Montreal has reportedly been searching for a top-six scoring forward, making them a potential destination.

However, the article notes significant hurdles to any potential permanent trade between the two clubs. Tampa Bay is reluctant to move their franchise scorer, particularly to an Atlantic Division rival, and would likely demand immediate NHL contributors rather than a package strictly focused on future assets.
