I don’t know if the Lightning would be willing to trade Nikita Kucherov within their division. I know, I know: Julien BriseBois has said he has no intention of trading his player.
Charles-Alexis Brisebois highlights Nikita Kucherov's past praise for Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St. Louis amid speculation linking the Tampa Bay Lightning forward to Montreal. Despite Lightning general manager Julien BriseBois releasing an official statement insisting the franchise has no intention of trading Kucherov, the writer suggests St. Louis's presence could make Montreal an appealing destination if a deal occurs.
The writer revisits a 2018 tribute where Kucherov congratulated St. Louis on his Hockey Hall of Fame induction, calling him a true leader and mentor. Brisebois argues that this mutual respect, alongside shared connections through agent Dan Milstein, could potentially outweigh any lingering fan tension stemming from Kucherov's comments after the 2021 Stanley Cup Final.
