The New York Islanders could be leaving their miniature, two-game road trip down two forwards. Center Calum Ritchie and winger Matias Maccelli each left Saturday’s 4-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs with lower-body injuries.
New York Islanders forwards Calum Ritchie and Matias Maccelli both exited Saturday's 4-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs with lower-body injuries. The Islanders confirmed that neither forward would return to complete the contest.
Ritchie suffered his injury during a first-period check from Leafs defenseman Nick Blankenburg. In the second period, Maccelli fell awkwardly following a poke check from Toronto defenseman Darren Raddysh and required assistance off the ice.
