Ryan Pulock’s multi-week absence deepens a defensive crisis for the injury-plagued Islanders, forcing the club to lean on AHL reinforcements as they prepare for a difficult stretch.

The New York Islanders announced on Sunday that defenseman Ryan Pulock will miss two to four weeks due to an upper-body injury. Pulock suffered the injury early during the team's 4-3 overtime victory over the Minnesota Wild on Thursday. In response, defenseman Isaiah George will likely be recalled from the American Hockey League affiliate in Hamilton to provide reinforcement.
Pulock's absence adds to significant injury troubles for the Islanders ahead of their upcoming game against the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday. He joins Alexander Romanov, Matias Maccelli, Cal Ritchie, and Mathew Barzal on the team's growing injured list.
