The NY Islanders were blanked at home by the Edmonton Oilers in a lackluster performance at home…

The New York Islanders suffered a 4-0 shutout loss to the Edmonton Oilers in a Halloween matinee matchup. After surviving a scoreless first period, during which Emil Heineman was ejected for kneeing Isaac Howard, the Islanders conceded three goals in the second period before an empty-net goal sealed Edmonton's victory.
Oilers goaltender Tristan Jarry earned his second consecutive shutout in the win. Islanders head coach Pete DeBoer noted postgame that his team looked fatigued playing their first game back at home following a three-game road trip.
