NY Islanders unveil two new postgame win traditions and they’re both amazing

The New York Islanders have unveiled two new postgame locker-room traditions to celebrate victories this season. Replacing last year's Iron Man mask, the team introduced a custom canoe paddle for the player of the game, alongside an orange hard hat with ear muffs to recognize the hardest worker.

Following a 6-0 home-opening win against the New Jersey Devils, goaltender Ilya Sorokin earned the inaugural paddle after a 37-shot shutout. Forward Casey Cizikas received the first hard hat following a goal and an assist, which included a short-handed breakaway.
