In an all-too-familiar- story angle, former New York Rangers center Filip Chytil landed on IR with the Vancouver Canucks with a shoulder injury, after playing just seven games this season.

The Vancouver Canucks placed forward Filip Chytil on injured reserve on Friday after he re-aggravated a shoulder issue. The injury occurred late during the Canucks' 3-2 loss to the San Jose Sharks on Thursday, following a hard check from defenseman Darnell Nurse. Despite being slow to get up, the former New York Rangers center finished the game and logged a season-high 22:13 of ice time.
Chytil had previously missed Vancouver's first eight games of the season after suffering a shoulder injury during the preseason. Since joining the Canucks in a January 2025 trade involving J.T. Miller, Chytil has faced recurring injuries, limiting him to only 12 games last season. Through seven appearances this year, the 27-year-old has recorded two assists.
