Sean Durzi and Braden Schneider, two of the New York Rangers regular defensemen, missed practice -- one due to an injury, the other because of an illness.

New York Rangers defensemen Sean Durzi and Braden Schneider missed practice on Saturday ahead of Sunday's game against the Edmonton Oilers. Durzi is sidelined with an undisclosed injury, while Schneider missed the session due to illness. Their potential absence threatens the Rangers' streak of using the same six defensemen through their first 14 games this season.
Coach Mike Sullivan noted that Durzi has been playing through pain after appearing to get hit by a shot on October 19. Right-handed defenseman Scott Morrow remains the sole extra blueliner on the active roster, while Hartford defenders Vincent Iorio and Drew Fortescue could be recall options if needed.
