Newly appointed Ottawa captain Thomas Chabot recorded a goal and an assist, while Michael Amadio also scored and Linus Ullmark made 27 saves in the road victory.
Auston Matthews and Kirill Marchenko provided the goals for Toronto, which dropped two of its first three regular-season contests at home. The Maple Leafs hit several posts throughout the game, and Ottawa defenseman Jake Sanderson exited after the first period due to an undisclosed injury.
