Flyers’ Helge Grans leaves preseason game with lower-body injury

Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Helge Grans exited Thursday night's preseason game against the Boston Bruins due to a lower-body injury. The 24-year-old blueliner played only two shifts and logged 1:29 of ice time before being ruled out for the remainder of the contest. Prior to his departure, Grans registered a secondary assist on Matvei Michkov's first-period goal.

The game marked Grans' second appearance of the preseason as he competes for a regular NHL roster spot. The Swedish defenseman is entering the final year of a two-year contract with an $837,500 cap hit after spending the majority of his professional career in the AHL.
