The Philadelphia Flyers have officially loaned 22-year-old forward Alex Bump to the AHL's Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Bump was reassigned following a difficult training camp and a challenging opening stretch to the season, which saw him demoted to the fourth line and eventually made a healthy scratch.
The roster transaction made room for free agent winger Michael Bunting, whom general manager Danny Briere signed to a one-year, $1.2 million deal. Bump will now attempt to regain his form in the minors after producing strong numbers in limited ice time during his prior campaign.
