Matvei Michkov, the Flyer with the most to prove, was the one to finally bring them to that first win.
Matvei Michkov led the Philadelphia Flyers to their first win of the season in a 3-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators at Xfinity Mobile Arena. After falling behind to an early Ottawa goal, Philadelphia rallied behind Michkov's offensive playmaking. Michkov set up Porter Martone for the equalizer before scoring the go-ahead goal himself off an Ullmark rebound late in the second period.
The Flyers protected their lead throughout a tense third period behind goaltender Dan Vladar, who turned aside persistent Ottawa pressure. Philadelphia survived a late penalty before Trevor Zegras sealed the victory with an empty-net goal in the final seconds of regulation.
