The Story in 60 Seconds

The Philadelphia Flyers have demoted 22-year-old forward Alex Bump to the AHL's Lehigh Valley Phantoms. The roster move follows an 0-2-2 start to the season for the Flyers, who have scored just five goals across their first four games. Bump became the odd man out after Philadelphia signed forward Michael Bunting to a one-year contract on Tuesday.

Bump went scoreless in three NHL appearances this season prior to his reassignment. Selected 133rd overall in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, Bump recorded five goals and nine points in 17 games with Philadelphia last season, in addition to scoring 26 points in 36 games for Lehigh Valley.
