According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the San Jose Sharks engaged in substantive trade discussions and submitted at least one serious offer for Detroit Red Wings defenseman Simon Edvinsson. However, the Red Wings did not accept San Jose's initial proposal as negotiations continue.
