San Jose Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky revealed that the team is trying to emulate the Ottawa Senators' blueprint for emerging from a long playoff drought. After missing the postseason for seven consecutive seasons, Warsofsky praised Ottawa head coach Travis Green for establishing a suffocating, fast, and structured style that San Jose hopes to replicate.
Ahead of their matchup, the Sharks announced that goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic will start in net against Ottawa. Forward Zack Ostapchuk will also draw into the lineup to replace Adam Gaudette for San Jose.
