A controversial figure in Hockeytown is facing the music after a tumultuous summer, but is happy to be back on the ice. Following the Detroit Red Wings’
Detroit Red Wings center Dylan Larkin returned from an upper-body injury to make his season debut in a 5-3 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night. Despite hearing boos from the home crowd following an offseason trade request, Larkin expressed relief to be playing again after recording a goal and an assist to help Detroit earn its first win of the season.
Larkin reportedly requested a trade in June, creating tension with the organization prior to former general manager Steve Yzerman stepping down and Shawn Horcoff stepping in as interim GM. Although reports indicate Detroit is still exploring trade possibilities, Larkin remained focused on competing alongside his teammates as the Red Wings look ahead to hosting the Seattle Kraken.
