The Story in 60 Seconds

The Tampa Bay Lightning are searching for rhythm on the power play after starting the season 0-for-13 with the man advantage. Despite the early special teams slump, Tampa Bay holds a 2-1 record following consecutive victories over the Washington Capitals and Philadelphia Flyers. Head coach Jon Cooper emphasized that while the team has generated quality scoring opportunities, converting those chances remains a priority moving forward.

To spark the unit, Cooper adjusted the top power-play group by promoting Charle-Edouard D’Astous and shifting offseason signing John Carlson to the left side. Carlson, who previously quarterbacked the Capitals' power play alongside Alex Ovechkin, is now adapting to playing alongside Nikita Kucherov and Brayden Point. The Lightning will seek their first power-play goal Thursday against the Minnesota Wild.
